2022-23 Highlights
Academy students are known as high achievers with big hearts. They excel at academics, athletics, visual and performing arts, and a variety of extracurricular activities. Each year, our teams, clubs, and individual students are recognized for local, regional, and national achievements, and we are very proud of them! Here’s a small sampling of what our students have achieved this year:
- The Academy won the NMAA Director’s Cup for the fifth consecutive year and the 15th time since its inception in 2005.
- The mock trial team finished second at nationals.
- Sixteen grads committed to college sports.
- Nori Little ’25 performed on Broadway during the Jimmy Awards.
- Artwork by Ada Ovitt ’25 is being displayed at the U.S. Capitol.
- The boys tennis team took their 20th straight state championship, and girls tennis made it a four-peat.
- DECA had two top-10 finishes at nationals.
- Two students earned perfect scores on the National Latin Exam.
- Keith Lee ’29 represented New Mexico at the National Spelling Bee.
- The original 6-7 opera got a shout-out on NPR.
- Seniors helped pass a state bill supporting free feminine hygiene products in schools.
